ONRSR Statement - Fatal Accident 31.12.2023

The Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator has deployed investigators to the scene of today's fatal accident near the South Australian and NSW border.

ONRSR will be looking to identify, and take action in the event of, any immediate safety issues in keeping with its role to investigate whether there has been any breach of Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) - which covers the systems and processes required of accredited rail transport operators in Australia.
